Agency does not give direct financial assistance. Financial management programs are available. Agency furnishes Bibles and Bible studies to inmates. Agency conducts religious education and worship programs in some of the State Correctional Facilities. There is no charge for services; however clients must come in to fill out an application. | Leukemia & Lymphoma Society | Family Support Group meets the first Thursday of each month at 12:00 noon September through May at the RMH Wine-Price Building (Center for Behavioral Health). The group offers a variety of speakers and is open to patients, family members and friends affected by leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease or myeloma. For more information, contact Patient Services Manager at 1-800-866-4483. First Connection is a peer-to-peer support program where newly diagnosed patients receive a one or two time contact (phone call) from a trained volunteer who has experienced the same diagnosis and is now in remission. Call 1-800-866-4483 to ask for a First Connection. Educational Materials on blood-related cancers, treatments, procedures and psychosocial issues are provided to the general public free of charge. Call 1-800-866-4483 to order materials. Educational Programs offered throughout the state at various times of the year on topics such as survivorship issues, chemotherapy, clinical trials and disease information. Call 1-800-866-4483 for future program offerings. Patient Services Newsletter will be mailed quarterly beginning July 2001 and will provide up to date and accurate information on patient programs and society events. Call 1-800-866-4483 to be added to the mailing list. Trish Greene Back to School Program is offered to any child experiencing cancer who must transition from school to treatment and back to school. Videos and educational materials available to school personnel and parents. Call 1-800-866-4483 for more information. Advocacy program provides up to date information about what is happening on Capitol Hill regarding programs that affect cancer patients and their families and informs participants on key times to contact legislators about these issues. To be added to the network, call 1-800-866-4483. Patient Aid Program offers up to $500 as funds are available per year to help defray certain costs of treatment. Patients are asked to complete a self-directed needs assessment & must be diagnosed with leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease or myeloma. |
